M&C buys Chelsea hotel

Millennium & Copthorne has bought the Wyndham Grand hotel in Chelsea Harbour for £65m. 


The UK-based operator, which already runs seven hotels in London, bought the leasehold for the Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour from Irish firm Harcourt Developments. The deal is expected to be completed in the first three months of 2014.


The hotel, which overlooks the Thames and is part of the Chelsea Harbour development, has 154 suites and four penthouses as well as a ballroom which can host 800 people. 


Kwek Leng Beng chairman of Millennium & Copthorne, said: “The Chelsea Harbour is one of the few hotels in the city to offer all-suite guest accommodation and is situated in a prestigious riverside area that will be going through further transformation and improvement in the near future.”
