Marks & Spencer has signed as anchor tenant for developer Gallico’s €500m (£339m) regeneration of Athlone town centre. M&S’s 17,000 sq ft store at the Murray O Laoire scheme is scheduled to open in autumn 2007. The mixed-use development will comprise 300,000 sq ft of shops over two levels, a four-star, 160-bed hotel, and a 1,300-space car park. Bannon Commercial acted for Gallico.
