Marks & Spencer (M&S) is to reopen 18 stores it bought from Littlewoods as menswear outlets.
All 289 M&S stores are to be restructured around 40 regional superstores of an average 13,935 sq m (150,000 sq ft).
This follows research which shows the different distances customers are prepared to travel to purchase different types of goods.
Many will be close to the former Littlewoods stores and will have menswear stripped out and moved down the road into the newly opened outlets.
