Mace uses new MMC at East Village

Mace is using new sustainable modern methods of construction to speed up housing delivery at East Village in Stratford, E20.

It has integrated digital technology and offsite modular assembly to deliver homes in 25% less time, with 40% less vehicle movement and 70% less waste.

Mace worked with Australian firm Hickory to develop the building system, dubbed High Rise Solutions, which is being delivered by the new Mace Tech business unit.

The method will reduce costs and require 20% fewer workers on site.

It is being used on Get Living’s 524-home build-to-rent scheme at N06 in East Village.

Mark Reynolds, chief executive of Mace, said: “Availability of smart data is essential to radically change our industry. Mace Tech will allow us to harness the latest digital technologies and offsite construction methods to create better buildings.

“HRS is already helping to deliver housing faster with less waste and reduce carbon emissions.”
