Madison appoints director of investments

Madison International Realty has appointed former Goldman Sachs vice-president Kyle Torpey as director of investments.

Torpey will be part of the team responsible for the origination, underwriting and execution of Madison transactions in the US and global markets.

He joins from Goldman Sachs, where he was a vice-president in the real estate investment banking division, focused on M&A and capital markets.

Previously, he served as an associate in real estate investment banking at Lazard and UBS in a similar capacity.

“We continue to expand our investment team as our domestic and international transactions have increased in both complexity and size,” said Ronald Dickerman, Madison founder and president.

Madison specialises in acquiring ownership stakes, joint venture, private REIT and listed property shares in prime properties and portfolios in “gateway markets” in the US, UK and Western Europe. Its UK assets include a 50% stake in King Edward Court at 10 Paternoster Square and St Martin’s Court at 10 Paternoster Row, EC4.

It also owns the freehold of the Houndsditch Estate and 133 Houndsditch, EC3, which it is marketing through CBRE for £240m – a net initial yield of 5.25%.
