Maghull gets go-ahead for Merseyside scheme

Maghull Developments has been granted detailed planning permission for the £8m redevelopment of Central Buildings in Crosby, Merseyside.

The mixed-use scheme comprises 10,000 sq ft of ground floor retail, 10 flats and 12,500 sq ft of office space.

Maghull will begin demolition work in August and the scheme should be completed by September 2007.

Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Tesco, Argos, Home & Bargain and Specsavers have already expressed interest in the retail space, according to Maghull.

Michael Hanlon, managing director of the developer, said: “We hope that this planning approval will act as a catalyst for further investment and regeneration within the town centre in order to improve the poor retail offer and also create more jobs for the local community.”

Retail agent for the development is Taylor & Co.

Mason Owen is letting the office space, while Michael Moon is handling the sale of the apartments.
