Liverpool developer Maghull has submitted revised plans for its site on the corner of Hope Street and Myrtle Street in the city centre.
The new plans include more than 350 student flats, plus 15,000 sq ft shops and restaurants spread across four blocks. A public courtyard is also planned.
The scheme, designed by Falconer Chester Hall, has been changed from that originally submitted in 2007, due to the downturn in the property market. That scheme – valued at around £100m – comprised four separate planning applications and included a five-star hotel.
Maghull said it was already in advanced negotiations with a national student accommodation operator.
Subject to consent, work on site will start next summer with completion scheduled for 2014.
Roman Summer Associates advised on planning.
