Mail site ready for delivery

Royal Mail has kicked off the sales campaign for one of the largest development opportunities in the Vauxhall Nine Elms regeneration area, SW8.

Rothschild and Savills have been tasked with advising on either a sale or joint venture for the privatised company’s 14-acre South London Mail Centre site.

Plans for a 1,870-flat scheme including 50,000 sq ft of shops and community facilities were approved by Wandsworth council in 2012. The existing consent stipulates that 15% of the housing must be affordable.

The centre closed in 2012 and mail processing was transferred to other Royal Mail sites in Greater London.
