Plans for a major hotel and conference centre totalling 200,000 sq ft have been submitted for Birmingham Science Park in Aston.
Unite, the UK’s biggest trade union, has submitted the planning application to Birmingham city council to develop a £35m mixed-use scheme.
Plans include developing two buildings on a 2.2-acre corner site at Woodcock Street and Jennens Road, one for a 170-bedroom hotel, which would site above a restaurant, 45,750 sq ft conference centre and meeting facilities. The second building would house a 55,260 sq ft office block for Unite staff.
The scheme has been designed by Irish architect Consarc.
