Major Isle of Dogs resi plan submitted

Ashbourne Beech Property has submitted an EIA planning application to Tower Hamlets Council for a major residential-led mixed-use scheme on the Isle of Dogs, E14. The entire scheme is more than 2m sq ft.

The proposals include 2,000 homes, as well as a new Asda supermarket, primary school, theatre, arts space and Idea store.

If permitted, the plans will replace an Asda supermarket and petrol station on the current site, and will also supersede an existing consent for 850 new homes, granted permission in 2012.

A consortium consisting of 90 North, Arzan Wealth and RER London acquired a majority stake in Ashbourne Beech in 2014, and therefore the development rights over the site. Since then, the plans have evolved with more density now planned for the site. Eleven buildings are planned, the tallest up to 33 storeys. The scheme is planned to be delivered over three phases.
