Major mixed-use scheme planned for Cardiff city centre

Park View, a £35m, 240,000 sq ft (22,296 sq m) mixed-use development centred on a block of disused offices in Cardiff city centre is being planned by Admiral Properties.

Park Plaza Hotels, part of the US-owned Carlson leisure group, has committed to a four-star, 130-bedroom hotel at the Greyfriars Road scheme.

The conversion of the former Mid-Glamorgan council headquarters will also include 43,000 sq ft (3,995 sq m) of offices, a three-storey block of 36 flats with a roof garden constructed on top of the existing four-storey building, and a health and fitness centre.

The scheme brings to an end a decade of uncertainty surrounding the future of a building that has been vacant since the early 1990s.

Agent Michael Graham Young has been appointed to market the flats.
