Capital & Regional’s and Morley Fund Management’s The Mall fund has set its sights on increasing its portfolio to more than 30 shopping centres by 2006.
The Mall fund’s chief executive Ken Ford said that the partnership wanted to add at least another nine shopping centres to the 21 it owns in the UK, which total 7m sq ft.
Since it was formed in March 2002, The Mall has already met its initial target of owning more than 10% of the market.
The Mall is understood to be eyeing at least four shopping centres.
These include the 450,000 sq ft County Mall in Crawley and Prudential’s 360,000 sq ft Main Square shopping centre in Camberley.
