Manchester creative hub Diecast applies for permanent home

Events venue operator A Very Inc has launched a public consultation as it seeks to secure the long-term future of Diecast, a creative venue in Manchester city centre.

The 250,000 sq ft scheme, which is located off Great Ancoats Street, was home to a metalworks factory before being redeveloped into a food, drink and entertainment destination last year. Temporary planning permission was granted in 2022.

A Very Inc is now preparing to submit a full planning application to Manchester City Council so that it can establish Diecast permanently. The firm also plans to expand the venue through the addition of independent shops and a night market.

Joel Wilkinson, director at A Very, said: “We’re proud of what Diecast has become: a unique cultural and creative hub where locals and visitors can gather, explore and celebrate the very best of Manchester. We’re committed to making Diecast a long-term part of Manchester’s future, and this consultation is a chance for the community to help shape the next chapter of this space.”
