Premier League leaders Manchester City FC is opening its next official club shop at intu and M&G Real Estate’s Manchester Arndale shopping centre.
Manchester City FC, alongside their official global retail partner Fanatics International, has signed up to take 2,000 sq ft and will be selling club kits, gifts and branded homewares.
The store will also become a venue for a number of club-related events, including impromptu visits by some of the club’s top players for signings and in store demos.
This latest letting follows the recent opening of JD Sports’ new Manchester store, which is also in the centre.
Colin Flinn, regional managing director at intu, said on behalf of the joint venture: “As Manchester’s leading retail destination in the heart of the city, the opening of Manchester City Football Club’s store at Manchester Arndale sees the meeting of two iconic Manchester institutions under one roof.
“MCFC joins Manchester Arndale’s enviable line up of global brands and will be another draw to the centre for both local shoppers and visitors alike.”
Tim Perry, head of retail at Fanatics International, added: “City Centre retail presence with Manchester City is really important to us. It offers great convenience to the club’s supporters who love the experience of shopping in the city centre, but also offers us that chance to grow our retail business with incremental sales that would not be picked up through our stadium store footprint at the Etihad.”
