Manchester office take-up hits new record
Manchester office take-up more than doubled in Q1 after HMRC prelet 157,000 sq ft at Three New Bailey, according to figures from the Manchester Office Agents Forum.
Total take-up hit a record 435,590 sq ft, significantly above the 204,312 sq ft in Q1 2017 and the 10-year average of 192,465 sq ft.
The HMRC prelet accounted for more than one-third of total take-up but even without it, Q1 take-up would have been the third highest since 2008 – behind 2013 and 2014.
Outside of the HMRC deal, professional services accounted for the most take-up at 19.4%, followed by the IT and tech sectors.
