DTZ Investors has submitted plans for a £9m refurbishment of Manchester Printworks.
The revamp is the first major investment into the city centre entertainment venue since it launched 20 years ago.
It will provide Europe’s largest digital ceiling, at 14,000 sq ft, and give customers the ability to control lighting and sound, with changing imagery and tailored content. A large interactive screen will also encourage social competitions and engagement.
There will also be enhancement of the exteriors, digital tenant signage and improvements to entrances.
Ben Haller, associate director at DTZ Investors, said: “This refurbishment at Printworks will create an unrivalled interactive and immersive experience as a crucial element of our strategy, and operational changes will expand on existing community links alongside a new ambitious events and gaming programme.”
Printworks tenants include Treetop Adventure Golf, Escape Reality and Tenpin bowling and it will continue to drive diversification of lettings.
The refurbishment is scheduled to commence in spring 2020.
