Manchester city council has recommended for approval the first phase of the £1bn Manchester Life joint venture between the city council and Manchester City FC owner Abu Dhabi United Group.
A 424-flat project at New Union Street is to occupy a 2.4-acre vacant site, and comprise three blocks of up to 10 storeys.
Meanwhile, 124 flats are to be built at Murray’s Mill, in a listed warehouse conversion project.
The RTKL-designed project represents the first phase of a 6,000-home PRS joint venture first revealed by Estates Gazette.
Deloitte are advising on planning.
The council is set to approve the plans next week.
