Greater Manchester’s Combined Authority is set to launch a bid for the city to be the location for the government’s £3bn Green Investment Bank.
Manchester will go up against Leeds, London, Bristol and Edinburgh to house the bank, which will launch next April.
The institution’s aim is to channel public funds into green technology schemes.
