Capital & Centric has been given the go-ahead to restore Neptune Mill, a 22,000 sq ft industrial building on Chapeltown Street in Manchester.
The developer is set to create four floors of workspaces above ground-floor leisure space earmarked for food and beverage. One of the floors in the building will be reserved as Capital & Centric’s new headquarters to house its expanding team.
The planning application was submitted in May, with work on site scheduled to start later this year and the first workspace to become available late next year.
The building forms a part of the wider regeneration of Piccadilly East, kick-started by Capital & Centric back in 2017. The developer has already transformed a Victorian mill into new homes, a project known as Crusader, and delivered a new-build residential block named Phoenix. In addition, the firm has brought forward Leonardo Hotel.
Most recently, planning was granted for the company’s Ferrous scheme, which is set to create additional homes in the neighbourhood.
Tom Wilmot, joint managing director at Capital & Centric, said: “Having delivered new hotel rooms for visitors and homes for those putting down permanent roots in the city, this is the next step for the neighbourhood, bringing in businesses and creating ground-floor spaces that the community can patronise.”
