Harry Handelsman, chairman of Manhattan Loft Corporation which has a £180m development programme, is voicing concerns that house prices are too high.
When Handelsman started in Clerkenwell in 1992, shell lofts were selling at £1,076 per sq m (£100 per sq ft). Now prices are at least four times higher.
