The Manhattan Loft Corporation-led consortium behind the £50m redevelopment of Ealing Studios has signed up Shrek producer Vanguard Animation for a 10,200 sq ft studio. The project will be Europe’s first full-scale digital animation studio, and will be used to produce Valiant, the company’s next film, which will be distributed by Ealing and Walt Disney. MLC and Fragile Films bought the film studios in 2000, and gained planning to redevelop the 4-acre site the following year. The plans envisage 130,000 sq ft of studios, stages and support offices.
