Manner plans to build a 550-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme at the Hotspur Press site in Manchester.
The site has an earlier proposal for a 171-home, 28-storey residential development that was approved by Manchester City Council’s planning committee in 2018.
Manner has now launched a consultation on its new plans to deliver a 35-storey building on the site instead.
Plans include preserving the existing iconic brick façade and signage of the Hotspur Press.
Hodder + Partners has been retained as the architect for the scheme and Turley has been appointed as planning consultant.
Fresh Student Living will operate the development.
