Manse Opus, the joint venture between Opus Land and Manse, has received planning consent to build a 440,000 sq ft, £130m facility for aerospace engineering group Meggitt on a site near Coventry.
This will be the first unit to be built in the 2m sq ft Prospero industrial park. Development is expected to start in August and complete in October 2019.
Rolls-Royce has appointed Manse Opus to lead the development and regeneration of the car/aerospace manufacturer’s surplus land.
The 200-acre industrial park is expected to provide 2m sq ft of modern manufacturing space alongside retained Rolls-Royce operations, MTC, and Sainsbury’s regional HQ.
David Mitchell and Richard Smith, joint managing directors of the Manse Opus joint venture, said: “This deal with Meggitt is, to our knowledge, the largest in the region for many years, and is a reflection on the quality of the location, on what has been created by Homes England at Ansty Park, and on what Manse Opus is in the process of creating on the surplus Rolls-Royce land.”
