Rents in central London have risen sharply over the last 12 months as people delay buying expensive properties over fears of a mansion tax.
Research by Dataloft and Beauchamp Estates shows that the average weekly rent at the top end of the market has jumped by 23% since 2009 to £3500 per week, equivalent to £182,000 a year, or just above the average house price in England and Wales.
