Manufacturing activity was little changed in the latest survey by employers’ group EEF and accountants BDO, but concerns about the economy post-Brexit remain with investment plans at their lowest since the financial crisis.
The survey left its forecasts for economic growth unchanged, but revised its manufacturing output forecasts higher.
EEF chief economist Lee Hopley said signs of an export revival is helping drive optimism for the second half, but concerns are clearly evident.
