Following a bumper 2014, Glasgow’s office market appeared to struggle this year, with space transacted dropping by a quarter in the 12 months to the end of September, according to EGi research.

The market fell short on every metric from average deal size to total number of deals, although in line with previous years. Total space tr ansacted by the top 10 agents this year fell by a third. JLL regained the top spot, disposing of 332,000 sq ft. It was one of only three agents in the top 10 to improve on last year’s performance.

After a couple of years in sixth position GVA James Barr has stayed consistent again this year where others have struggled. Managing to almost replicate last year’s totals, GVA James Barr was able to rise up the rankings where others have slowed down.

Going down Phil Reid Associates

After rising up to seventh last year Phil Reid Associates struggled to replicate that success despite a similar tally of deals. Average deal sizes dipped from a healthy 8,000 sq ft last year to just over 5,000 sq ft this time, resulting in it falling to tenth position in the table.
