Stocks around the world headed lower in trading today, with the FTSE 100 closing down 3.3% and the FTSE 250 registering a 4.5% fall.
In a downbeat market, several property-focused names posted double-digit drops.
Estate agency Foxtons lost a quarter of its value, closing 24.6% lower at 37.7p, one of the sharpest drops seen across the FTSE All-Share during the session.
Not far behind was Hammerson. The REIT’s shares ended the day at 66.66p, almost a fifth lower over the course of trading.
Agency Countrywide lost 13% and closed at 58p, while intu Properties also saw a 13% fall.
