Market wrap: British Land and Landsec rally among FTSE 100 climbers

Two of the UK’s biggest office-focused REITs were among the most notable rising stocks in London trading today.

British Land’s share price jumped by more than 5%, continuing yesterday’s upward trajectory to hit 464p. Landsec was up by 2.7% at 638.9p. The two companies posted the third and fifth highest stock rises of any FTSE 100 company during the session, respectively. The index dropped by 1.3% to 6,567.

In the FTSE 250 – which was down 0.8% at 20,278 – Hammerson topped the list of climbers, up by more than 12% to 22.8p.

The day’s steepest real estate fall was posted by One Heritage Group, which, after making huge gains over the past week and a half, lost 25% today at 47.5p – still far above its placing price of 10p in the company’s December IPO.
