British Land made it into the top risers in the FTSE 100 today, after it was confirmed that the company had held onto its spot in the index of London’s largest listed companies.
The REIT had been predicted to fall out of the FTSE 100, having lost 45% of its value since the start of the year, but it survived the shuffle. Shares rose 2.34%, ending the day at 358.8p.
In the FTSE 250, Shaftesbury was among the highest risers, up 5.74% to 534.5p.
Elsewhere, Hammerson and PPHE Hotel Group were relegated to the FTSE Small Cap index.
Hammerson dipped 1.61% to 287.30p and PPHE Hotel Group was static at 1,050p, despite reporting a 60% slide in revenue in its H1 results.
The FTSE 100 fell 1.52% to 5,851 and the FTSE 250 dropped 1.38% to 17,460.
