Market wrap: Ediston leads day’s REIT rises

Retail warehouse owner Ediston saw the biggest rise amongst REITs in trading today, its stock gaining 3.3% to close at 53.6p.

The Edinburgh-based company was joined in trading upwards by AEW UK REIT, up 1.9% to 76.6p following yesterday’s conformation of a NAV rise and dividend payment, and McKay Securities, which ticked up 1.3% to 189p.

Among the day’s property fallers were Town Centre Securities, which dropped by 4% to finish the day at 96.25p; BMO Commercial Property Trust, down 3.4% at 56p; and serviced office operator Workspace, which lost 3.1% to close at 567p.

The FTSE 100 finished 1.4% lower at 6,123. The FTSE 250 was down 1.3% at 17,264.
