A Central and Eastern Europe-focused property investor posted the biggest rise in London-listed real estate today on the back of a €1.6bn (£1.4bn) takeover approach.
Shares in Globalworth Real Estate Investments soared by more than a fifth to €7.20, edging past a €7-a-share offer to take the company private from CPI Property Group and Aroundtown.
There was also a notable rise for Hammerson, shares in which ended the session up by 6.5% at 38.8p.
In the FTSE 100, British Land nudged up by 0.4% to 511.6p on news of fresh plans to reshape its portfolio. NewRiver REIT, which this morning revealed plans to spin out its pubs portfolio in an IPO, was up by 2.5% at 106p.
The FTSE 100 ended the day up 0.7% at 6,939. The FTSE 250 was up 0.4% at 22,355.
