Hammerson was among the REITs enjoying a boost in share prices today, as the wider market made gains.
Global stocks traded up today after the US Federal Reserve said it would buy individual corporate bonds. Investor confidence was also buoyed after it emerged that the government has authorised the NHS to use the first drug shown to reduce Covid-19 death rates.
The highest rising REITs on the stock exchange during the day included Hammerson, after its shares closed up 9.6% at 122.65p, and Ediston Property Investments, which posted a 9.1% rise to 53.8p.
Also up was NewRiver REIT, which saw an uplift of nearly 7% to 72p.
Notable fallers during the day included Town Centre Securities, down 7.9% to 93p, and Regional REIT, dropping 4% to 76.4p.
The FTSE 100 finished the day up 2.94%, at 6,242, while the FTSE 250 rose 2.2% to 17,464.
