Hammerson’s stock was among the biggest gainers in FTSE trading today (6 December), as the REIT said it will launch a share buyback to meet obligations under employee share option initiatives.
The company will repurchase up to 7m shares to hold in treasury. Its stock rose by 7.4%, one of the best performances in the FTSE 350, to a near-month high of 33.74p.
Newly listed Life Science REIT edged down by 0.25% to 100.5p. The company today confirmed two more acquisitions in Oxford and Cambridge.
The biggest real estate rise came from LSL Property Services, up by 8.8% to 435p.
The FTSE 100 closed at 7,232 points, up 1.5%. The FTSE 250 closed at 22,881 points, up 1%.
