The FTSE 100 ended the week having clawed back all of its losses from Monday’s rout, up by almost 0.9% during Friday’s session to 7,027. The FTSE 250 climbed too, also rising 0.9% to close at 22,883.
Real estate companies were absent from the blue-chip indices’ lists of the biggest winners and losers from the day. The largest property-related gain was from FTSE All-Share constituent Harworth Group, shares in which hit a nine-year-plus high of 159.5p after the company said that its half-year results would be “materially ahead” of expectations.
Real estate companies trading down included Henry Boot, which slipped by 2.2% to 269p, giving up some of the gains made earlier in the week after its own upbeat trading statement.
