Market wrap: Landsec joins FTSE 100’s top climbers

As the FTSE 100 edged down by just 0.2%, Landsec was among the index’s biggest gainers today, its shares up by 2.3% to 570.8p.

That put the company in fifth place in terms of FTSE 100 climbers, a list topped by a 6% rise for InterContinental Hotels Group.

Elsewhere, Dukemount Capital, a small-cap specialist in sale-and-leaseback deals for supported living properties, rose by 16% to 0.9p. Pires Investments was up by 11.5% to 4.85p, while Henry Boot gained 6.25% to reach 255p.

The day’s sharpest real estate fall was seen by estate agency Purplebricks, which closed down almost 3.5% at 77.8p.
