London stocks continued to recover on Wednesday after their falls at the beginning of the week.
The FTSE 100 finished Wednesday trading at 6,998, up 1.7% over the day, while the FTSE 250 rose by 1.9% to 6,998.
Whitbread, which owns Travelodge, enjoyed a 6.1% rise to 3,012p, on hopes that the summer lifting of restrictions would bring people back to its hotels.
Elsewhere in the blue-chip index, Landsec and British Land both surged, with their stocks up 4.1% at 690.2p and 4% at 509p respectively.
London-focused REITs also rose, with Capco up 3.4% at 168.2p, Shaftesbury up 2.7% at 587p and Derwent London up 2.6% at 3,519p.
Hammerson also saw a 6.1% rise to 37.7p.
