Market wrap: Mailbox REIT up after landmark listing

Shares in the first company to list on the real estate-focused IPSX stock market were trading up at the end of their first session today.

Mailbox REIT, established by M7 Real Estate to hold its Mailbox office asset in Birmingham, was admitted to IPSX’s Wholesale market today.

A single trade during the day was made at £1.045 a share, 4.5% above the IPO price.

On the London Stock Exchange, there were gains for several companies whose fortunes should be improved by the reopening of indoor hospitality next week. Restaurant owner Whitbread was the FTSE 100’s second-highest rising stock, up 3.85% at 3,180. In the FTSE 250, a 6.6% rise for Cineworld made it the third-best performing stock of the day at 89.5p.

The FTSE 100 ended the day at 7,043, up by 1.2%. The FTSE 250 stood at 22,336, up 1.2%.
