Shares in McCarthy & Stone have inched down in the wake of the news that its shareholders voted in favour of a cash buyout by private equity firm Lone Star.
Around 80% of votes were cast in favour of the takeover, which came after Lone Star sweetened its offer for the company.
The retirement housebuilder’s shares fell marginally by 0.17% to end the session at 119.6p.
The FTSE 100 was up 0.05% to finish the day at 6,558 points, while the FTSE 250 was down by 0.3% at 19,870.
