NewRiver REIT was one of the top real estate risers on the stock exchange today, after posting improvements in Q1 and Q2 rent collection.
Shares in the REIT finished the day up 5.84% to 58p. Earlier today the REIT said rental payments were already 72% ahead of where they were at the same point in Q2.
It added that its retail and pub businesses were both cash positive throughout lockdown, and that it is progressing with plans to turn some of its retail and pub locations into housing.
Other real estate winners of the day included housebuilders Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Developments. Taylor Wimpey finished the day up 4.26% to 121.25p, while Barratt climbed 3.24% to 542p.
The FTSE 100 closed up 0.5% to 5,978.03 while the FTSE 250 also rose, by 0.81% to 17,946.16.
