Market wrap: RDI REIT and Hammerson enjoy boost

RDI REIT and Hammerson were among the biggest risers in London trading today.

RDI’s shares rose by almost a fifth, closing up 19.6% at 55p, the second-highest rise across the FTSE All-Share.

The gain marks an almost two-week high for the REIT, which announced on Monday it had collected just 59% of rent due for the March 2020 quarter.

Hammerson shares rose 10.6% to 48.17p, also one of the market’s best performers.

This marked a better day than yesterday for the REIT, when Moody’s Investors Service downgraded its issuer rating and senior unsecured ratings to Baa2 from Baa1.

The FTSE 100 ended the day on a 1% gain at 5,799. The FTSE 250 saw trading close at 15,660, up 1.7%.
