Market wrap: U+I leads real estate rises as FTSE dips

U+I Group was today’s best performing stock on the FTSE All-Share index, as the FTSE 100 and 250 both traded down.

The regeneration-focused developer rose by nearly 6%, ending the day at 92.2p.

Other real estate risers included Capital & Regional, up 3.8% at 62.8p, and Real Estate Investors, up 0.6% at 40.2p.

UKCM was the lowest performing REIT on the stock exchange, down 4.6% at 75.1p.

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey was among the biggest FTSE 100 fallers, dropping by 4.1% at 158.7p.

The FTSE 100 dipped by 0.5% at 7,028 points, while the FTSE 250 was down by 2% at 23,129.
