Marston’s has completed two purchases for £6m of new developments in Yorkshire.
The brewer’s first deal is located at the Thorne site on Omega Boulevard in a mixed-use commercial and residential area. The pub and restaurant, to be named the King’s Chamber, will operate as a Milestone Carvery with space for 180 diners. It is forecast to open in April 2015.
In Whitby, Marston’s will be opening The Penny Hedge on Discovery Way adjacent to Whitby Business Park. The site is being developed as a 180-cover Milestone Rotisserie and 28-bed Marston’s Inn, which is set to open in June 2015.
Rachel Newnes, acquisitions manager for Marston’s, said: “Marston’s continues to seek and acquire sites across Yorkshire and the North East and looks forward to delivering more pubs and inns in 2015 and beyond”.
For the Whitby deal Aspinall Verdi acted on behalf of Marston’s and Carter Jonas represented the vendor, a private client; in Thorne, Quirico Estates acted for Marstons and JLL advised vendor Henry Boot Developments.
