Martin Gilbert has ended speculation by announcing that he will leave Standard Life Aberdeen next September.
The deputy chairman of the asset manager, which has more than £500bn under management, co-founded Aberdeen Asset Management in 1983 and created Standard Life Aberdeen in 2017 when he led the controversial merger in 2017.
