NASA-inspired Danish brand Tempur Mattresses is to open a store at Bluewater in Kent.
The retailer, which sells mattresses made from a by-product of NASA space missions, has agreed a 4,000 sq ft store on a 10-year lease, situated on the lower Thames Walk.
The Bluewater store will be the largest of the three full-line standalone stores Tempur has opened.
Lend Lease is currently awaiting a decision on plans to extend Bluewater’s West Village by up to 330,000 sq ft.
Guy Thomas, head of retail leasing at Lend Lease, said: “The evolution of Bluewater continues apace in 2013, with Tempur adding something quite different to our offer. Their experience-led store will bring their innovative products to life, and the association with NASA creates extra appeal for technology-minded guests.”
