Mayfair Capital Investment Management has appointed Schroders’ former head of property investment support Gill Roantree to a newly created chief operating officer role.
As chief operating officer, Roantree will step into a role that will encompass fund and corporate responsibilities including finance, compliance, fund accounting and fund structuring. She has substantial experience in the funds industry, having worked in the sector for more than 25 years, with experience gained at Clerical Medical, Royal Bank of Canada, M&G and Allied Irish Bank.
Prior to joining Mayfair Capital, Roantree spent more than 11 years with Schroder Property, joining them in 2002 to set up the operational arm of the property business in Jersey, where she progressed to chief operating officer.
In 2010 she relocated to London and took on the role of head of property investment support, with responsibility for the management of fund and corporate services for Schroders’ pan-European property business.
The new hire follows last month’s appointment of William Hill, the former head of property at Schroders, as a non-executive director.
Roantree said: “The opportunity to move to a boutique firm with a strong track record and ambitious growth plans was very compelling. Mayfair Capital encompasses all of these qualities with a rigorous growth strategy and a very experienced team, which I am very much looking forward to being a part of.”
Stephen Musgrave, chairman of Mayfair Capital, said: “Gill’s knowledge of the funds industry and vast experience will be invaluable to us as we expand our business. It is an exciting time at Mayfair Capital and the fact that we have been able to appoint such an experienced chief operating officer reflects the strength and ambition of the business.”
