Mayfair continues to build team

FINANCE: Mayfair Capital Investment Management has appointed the former Aberdeen Asset Management joint head of UK transactions as an investment director.

Jonathan Gibbon will work alongside Guy Brogden, head of investment and a co-founder of Mayfair Capital, to lead the firm’s transaction business.

Gibbon has extensive experience in the UK real estate investment management sector in his recent role at Aberdeen, and prior role as an assistant fund manager role at their largest property mandate.

He is one of a number of departures from Aberdeen following its £550m takeover of rival Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in April, including most recently UK head of real estate investment Peter Lillington.

His hire follows the appointments in April and March respectively of Gill Roantree, the former head of property investment support at Schroders, as chief operating officer, and William Hill, the former head of property at Schroders, as a non-executive director.

Mayfair Capital chief executive James Thornton said: “Jonathan is a very talented transaction specialist. His appointment represents another significant hire for the firm and comes at a time when our funds are attracting significant inflows of money”.
