McAleer & Rushe granted consent change to build Swindon offices

McAleer & Rushe has gained approval for a change to a residential planning consent in order to make way for a 95,000 sq ft office scheme next to the Jury’s Inn it has built on Fleming Way in Swindon.

The Precision Point office block, designed by MAP Architects, comprises seven floors of offices and 57 car parking spaces split over two levels. The adjacent 229-bedroom Jury’s Inn Hotel opened in June 2009.

Alder King and Knight Frank are advising McAleer & Rushe on the offices.

Alder King partner James Gregory said: “McAleer & Rushe worked very closely with the council to deliver the Jury’s Inn Hotel, which has been an important boost to the regeneration of Swindon. This new office scheme will add to this by creating the kind of new product Swindon needs to attract employers and create a dynamic office market.”

Knight Frank partner Tony Nicholas added: “This new office scheme is a major boost for the town because it can be delivered quickly. Swindon has a very limited supply of good-quality office stock.”
