McCarthy & Stone has bought a 5.5-acre site in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, with a GDV of £40m, its largest scheme to date.
The site has been granted planning permission for 44 retirement living and 58 assisted living flats, a 78-bed care home, 20,000 sq ft of office space and a children’s day centre.
The land, adjacent to Ilkley station, was bought from Tesco.
Chris Watson, regional land director at McCarthy & Stone, said: “Our Ilkley development has already attracted significant levels of interest from local people who are interested in downsizing to a lower maintenance property.”
Colliers International advised McCarthy & Stone.
