Rowan Baker, chief financial officer of retirement developer McCarthy & Stone, will step down later this year to take the top finance post at construction group Laing O’Rourke.
Baker joined the company in 2012, taking a seat on the board in 2017. She worked on the company’s IPO in 2015.
She will be replaced at McCarthy & Stone by Martin Abell, who will join as CFO designate in late May and take over from Baker on 1 August.
Abell was most recently CFO of pharmaceutical company Clinigen Group, before which he was a finance director for recruitment group Hays.
