MacDonald House, in a corner of Grosvenor Square, in Mayfair, is likely to be turned into a hotel or luxury flats, says The Times.
The Canadian Embassy has put the West End of London building up for sale with a £300m asking price.
The newspaper says more than 20 property developers have already shown an interest in the eight-storey mansion.
